Analysis of a novel insect cell culture medium-based growth medium for Bartonella species.
Human- and animal-pathogenic Bartonella species are fastidious and slow-growing bacteria difficult to isolate and cultivate. We describe a novel, easy-to-prepare liquid medium for the fast and reliable growth of several Bartonella spp. that does not affect bacterial protein expression patterns or interactions with host cells.
متن کاملHuman articular cartilage storage in cell culture medium: guidelines for storage of fresh osteochondral allografts.
The viability of transplanted articular cartilage is one of the determinants of outcome following the transplantation of osteochondral allografts. Disappointing results from cryopreservation have led to the practice of fresh transplantation of articular segments, especially for posttraumatic defects. To date, no studies have demonstrated in vitro viability rates for refrigerated human cartilage...
متن کاملDifferent Storage Medium for Avulsed Teeth: A Literature Review
Avulsion is complete displacement of tooth from its alveolar socket. Immediate replantation is the best choice at the site of accident. When replantation is not possible, it should be kept in a storage medium. The storage media keeps periodontal cells with less damage to be able to regenerate and attach and prevents root resorption. The medium selected as a storage medium should be easily avail...
متن کاملAddition of Carbon to the Culture Medium Improves the Detection Efficiency of Aflatoxin Synthetic Fungi
Aflatoxin (AF) is a harmful secondary metabolite that is synthesized by the Aspergillus species. Although AF detection techniques have been developed, techniques for detection of AF synthetic fungi are still required. Techniques such as plate culture methods are continually being modified for this purpose. However, plate culture methods require refinement because they suffer from several issues...
متن کاملHepatitis C virus core protein is efficiently released into the culture medium in insect cells.
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a causal agent of the chronic liver infection. To understand HCV morphogenesis, we studied the assembly of HCV structural proteins in insect cells. We constructed recombinant baculovirus expression vectors consisting of either HCV core alone, core-E1, or core-E1-E2. These structural proteins were expressed in insect cells and were examined to assemble into particles. ...
